1821 List of Residents
Residents of Zolynia or Lubomierza
A researcher examining documents from another town in a Polish archive inadvertedly came across an 1821 list of households in Żołyni czyli Lubomierza (Zolynia or Lubomierza). The list was apparently prepared for taxing purposes. Lubomierza was the former name of "downtown" Zolynia, or Zolynia Centre. The "or" suggests that this was the transition period between names.
There are 45 names under the heading of Zydzi (Jews). The list also contained 72 names of Christian families, which were not sent along.
Following are the names of the heads of households as they were transcribed from the document. It is likely that the spellings represent the way the names sounded to the local official who compiled the list. Apparently there were two men named Sander Glanc on the original document:
